The Division of Medical Humanities, Health Law, & Ethics, a part of the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, administers the Community Medicine Seminar Series, a free lunch time seminar series offered during the academic year featuring dynamic, prominent speakers on a variety of topics of interest to physicians, students, health professionals, researchers, policy makers, and the general public.

Times
Most seminars are held once a month (sometimes twice a month), September through May, at the University of Connecticut Health Center from 12:00 Noon - 1:30 PM unless otherwise specified. Lunch (e.g. sandwiches, chips, drink, and cookies) is provided free of charge to attendees if you RSVP by the deadline, three business days prior to the scheduled event. During lunch time presentations, speakers begin their presentations 15 minutes after start time. For all presentations, lecturers end one half hour prior to ending time to allow for a question and answer session.

All sessions are free of charge, however we do require reservations in order to determine the amount of food to order. Please call 860.679.5495 or e-mail ungewitter@nso.uchc.edu if you wish to attend a specific session.
Location & Directions
Community Medicine Seminars are usually offered in the upper campus buildings
at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. Consult each seminar listing for the specific campus location of the lecture.
Those located outside the Health Center community can find directions to
our campus on the UConn Health Center main web site. The friendly volunteers at the hospital information desk can assist you in finding the specific
location of the presentation. Free visitor and patient parking is available in the four lots outside the John Dempsey Hospital entrance at the top of the hill.
CME Credit/Certificates of Participation
One Continuing Medical Education credit is available for individual physicians who attend eligible Community Medicine seminars. A certificate of participation can be sent by mail for non-physicians who request it at the individual lecture session.
